This research investigates the potential interactions between commonly used herbal supplements and anticoagulant medications in patients. Through a combination of in vitro and clinical studies, we identified several herb-drug interactions that could either potentiate or diminish the effects of anticoagulants. The study highlights the risk of altered pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, leading to either increased bleeding risk or reduced therapeutic efficacy. Our findings emphasize the importance of healthcare providers routinely assessing herbal supplement use in patients receiving anticoagulant therapy to prevent adverse interactions and ensure patient safety.
